About the AI-driven Business research area
The AI-driven Business research area is one of four areas of excellence of Rennes School of Business. 30 full-time professors are involved in research projects in the area across all business disciplines. Professors involved carry out leading research on how AI practices are transforming business practice. The research outcome target for projects is studies that are publishable in top-ranked academic journals. Particular research concentrations within the AI-driven Business research area include: topic modelling of corporate documents, AI and business strategy, implementation of AI innovations, operations and project management, responsible AI business, consumer perception of AI products and services, and predictive analytics more generally.

Description
To assist with the development of this research , the Director is hiring a Data Officer who will work with professors on the preparation of suitable datasets, as well as econometric assistance, for research projects. The suitable candidate will also work for the Agribusiness and Thriving Through Complexity areas of excellence. The role requires:

Familiarity with business and economic datasets (for example, Eikon / Thomson Reuters, Orbis, WRDS, World Bank datasets)

An understanding of the creation of suitable datasets for research projects, including appropriate identification of study controls and data transformation

An ability to work with standard statistical software, such as Python, Stata, Matlab, or R
-
Able to obtain and work with non-traditional data – such as carry out web scraping, and work with textual data

Assisting with econometric specification of research studies

Enthusiasm around the application of AI technologies to a business practice context

Profile
-
Master's degree in statistics, economics or business (holding a PhD in economics or business is an asset but not a requirement)

English fluency as the position will be carried out fully through the English language (French language knowledge is not required)

Working experience (or internship experience) in econometrics, statistics or business

A strong communication ability

An ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time

Location
The position is based in Rennes, the capital of Brittany in France.
It is located in Western France, one hour and 30 minutes from the
centre of Paris by train, and less than one hour from the coast.
Rennes has a strong economy and is recognised for its outstanding
quality of life and cultural environment with a wide range of private
and public amenities including excellent primary and secondary
schools. Rennes is also home to a very strong technology cluster
